overview

This lovely home is fully furnished, self-contained, well-appointed, large, elevated, light and airy set amongst tropical gardens full of flowers, fragrance and fruit with a plunge pool and 2 large balconies with comfortable seating, BBQ … and oh, did we mention the hammock!  Just bliss….

You’ll have the place ALL TO YOURSELF – just you, family & friends. Sleeps up to 8 (+ 2 air beds or cots; so up to 10 ‘at a pinch’). There are 2 bathrooms in the house; 1 bathroom and laundry downstairs.

All linen is supplied. Just bring your own food, drink & personal items.

Min 2 night stay applies except Public Holiday long weekends (min 3 night stay applies).

The home is fully air-conditioned and has fans throughout (and with the house catching the breezes, you’ll be impressed how cool the house is without air-conditioning).  Set amongst a lush, green garden including some fruit trees, a range of herbs we encourage guests to use and overlooking natural, cared-for bushland… the bird-life is prolific; so sit back and watch the ‘show’!

Easy driving time from Darwin CBD (1 hour) and one of Darwin’s best kept secret ‘weekend getaways’.

Close to Litchfield National Park (30 mins and you’ll be swimming!)  Notwithstanding, there is so much more to do here around here whatever your interest: nature, bird-life, history, heritage, adventure, bike riding, chasing waterfalls…. or just chilling out.

Activities
Do as much or as little as you like!

This is THE place to rest and relax - it's private, secure and very tranquil; nestled amongst the treetops in a lush, tropical garden filled with flowers, fragrance and fruit. A small, well-kept lawn suitable for recreation, playing with the children adjoins the small, fenced plunge pool.

There is a range of board/card games and an extensive, unique collection of local, NT and Australian books filled with information and pictures about the locale, people and history of this wonderful country.

Most people come to this area to visit the iconic Litchfield National Park... but we have so MUCH more to see and do!

Close by is the Batchelor Museum - a rich source of history incorporating Australia's first uranium mine (Rum Jungle Mine), WWII history, horticultural pursuits, aboriginal contribution, etc.

Want to meet some of the locals? Head to the Rum Jungle Tavern... Karaoke on a Friday night is entertaining - and they're always looking for more 'talent'; so get amongst it!

The bowling club is the Territory's only natural grass green... so a real treat to play 'barefoot'.
Accessibility
This is a quintessential 'Territory' house suited to tropical living: elevated off the ground with loads of louvre windows to catch all the breezes; light and airy. There are 15 stairs with handrails on both sides to get to the front door.
