Tolmer Falls

These falls cascade over two high escarpments through a stone archway into a deep pool at the bottom of the protected valley.

overview

Road Access:  Sealed road.
Difficulty:  Paved path to Falls lookout, Grade 1 (1km)
Tolmer Creek  loop walk on the bush track Grade 3 (1.5km)

Fantastic view of the Falls and valley from the lookout.  This valley is protected as it is home to several colonies of rare Ghost Bats and Orange Horseshoe Bats.   Swimming is not permitted in the protected valley or above the Falls.

There are a number of sheltered picnic spots in this area.  The large viewing platform along the accessible loop walk is ideal for viewing the sun setting over the vastness of the woodland savannah canopy which stretches across the whole of the Top End of Australia.  It’s a favourite spot for ‘proposals’ and marriages.
